Initiative 01
Industry Advisory Committee
Launching at the next regional meeting. Industry leaders sit at the table where programs,
workshops and member benefits get decided — so what we build matches what the profession
is actually hiring for.
Initiative 02
Regional Capstone Projects
Sections run capstones locally and nominate their strongest work for recognition at the
regional level. A real ladder from a single campus to the whole region.
Volunteers earn verifiable credentials for the hours and expertise they give. Service
becomes documented and portable — something you can put in front of an employer.

Leading AI + robotics to advance Pennsylvania manufacturing
Dr. Bai leads Temple's partnership with alumni-owned Demco Automation to make custom robotic manufacturing systems more accessible to Pennsylvania businesses. The initiative brings AI-driven design, hands-on student training, and direct industry mentorship together around real manufacturing challenges.

At the IEEE R1 & R2 Young Professionals Summit in Boston on August 9, 2026, I collaborated
with and led a cross-regional team of young professionals from the Boston Section and Turkey
Sections, together with a professional from the Lehigh Section. Our team won the TC Idea Pitch
Competition by aligning diverse viewpoints behind one practical plan and executing as one unit
across Regions 1, 2, and 8.
General Chair for SAC 2024, StuCon 2025 and SAC 2026 — the run that brought student
participation back after the pandemic and left money behind for the programs that follow.
Since 2022 — student programs, budgets and regional resources.
Philadelphia Section Adcom
Since 2002 — Chair, Vice Chair and Membership Chair.
Associate Dean for Research · Temple University College of Engineering
Tenured Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering, with research funded by NSF,
DOT and DoD. TPC Chair for IEEE Metacom 2026. The budgets, hiring and program oversight
a region director actually has to do.
